Creating a GST Jewellery Invoice in JewelBill
Learn how to compute multi-karat gold rates, enter making charges, deduct old scrap gold, and issue a GST invoice with dynamic UPI QR code.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Start New Invoice & Select Customer
Tap 'Create Invoice' from the dashboard. Select an existing customer from your Khata directory or tap 'New Customer' to record their contact and GSTIN.
Select Metal Purity Grade
Choose metal type: Gold (24K 99.9%, 22K 91.6% Hallmark, 18K 75.0%, 14K 58.5%, 9K), Silver (925 Sterling or Fine), or Platinum. Today's board rate auto-populates.
Input Gross, Stone & Net Weights
Enter gross weight. Input stone or gemstone weight to automatically calculate net pure metal weight in grams.
Configure Making Charges & Wastage
Select making charge calculation method: fixed flat amount, percentage of metal value (e.g. 8% or 12%), or fixed rate per gram (e.g. ₹450/g).
Itemize Gemstones & Diamonds (Optional)
Add diamonds or precious stones with Cut, Colour, Clarity, Carat weight, piece count, and lab certification ID (GIA, IGI, SGL).
Apply Old Gold Exchange Credit
If customer is trading in old ornaments, enter gross scrap weight, melting loss percentage, and net exchange value to deduct from invoice subtotal.
Select Payment Mode & GST Breakdown
Review 3% GST (1.5% CGST + 1.5% SGST or 3% IGST). Choose payment split: Cash, UPI, Card, Bank Transfer, Cheque, or Credit/Due (Khata).
Generate Vector PDF & Thermal Bill
Tap 'Generate Invoice'. A vector A4/A5 PDF is created with your shop logo, GSTIN, and dynamic UPI QR code, ready for Bluetooth print or WhatsApp share.
Expected Outcome
A legally compliant GST jewellery invoice is saved into Room DB, added to sales reports, and ready for immediate printing or digital customer delivery.
Important Points & Common Pitfalls
- Not recording stone weight deductions separately, causing inaccurate metal weight and GST calculation.
- Omitting shop GSTIN and bank details in Settings before generating invoices.
